The French Open is the second Grand Slam event of 2010. It is the most important clay court tournament of the year. Winning at the Roland Garros takes a lot of effort and skill. Clay court matches played using the best out of 5 sets are the most demanding tennis events in terms on physical and mental endurance. Clay court matches are longer as the rallies need extra shots in order to be decided. The ball bounces slower because of the clay surface and it allow players to send incredible shots after commanding rallies.
The French Open is hosted by the city of Paris, France. Live action unfolds at the Stade Roland Garros tennis center. This year the tournament is played between May 23 and June 6. The most important tournaments hosted are the Men’s and Women’s Singles and Doubles competitions. Read more
2010 Madrid Masters Live Online
The 2010 Madrid Masters is knocking at the door. It is the 5th Masters Series 1000 event of the year. Roger Federer is the defending champion. The tournament starts Monday, May 10th, with the big Final scheduled to be played on Sunday, May 16th.
The Madrid Masters is the 3rd and last clay court Master Series of the year. The previous two events where hosted by Monte Carlo and Rome. Rafael Nadal clinched the title in both events and aims to complete the hat-trick on home soil, in Madrid.
The 2009 edition was the first one played on outside clay courts, as the tournament was moved for the month of May and hosted by the brand new Park Manzanares complex. The change brought a new record. Read more
