The US Open is the last Grand Slam event of the season. The previous 3 major tournaments have been won by Roger Federer and Rafal Nadal. The Swiss Champion grabbed the Australian Open trophy in January. The Spaniard, current ATP leader, won the French Open and the Wimbledon Championships to return to the top spot of the Men’s rankings.

As expected Rafael Nadal is seeded No.1 in New York with Roger coming in second. However, bookmakers see Federer as main favorite to win the 2010 US Open. They are considering his recent history in New York as well as his latest performances in the North American Masters Series events. Nadal showed a slower start in this final part of the season. Other important favorites for the title are Andy Murray and Novak Djokovic.

Kim Clijsters is favorite to win the Women’s Singles race. She can expect serious opponcence from top seed Caroline Wozniacki and from local hero Venus Williams. Maria Sharapova also aims to return to the bright spotlights. The Russian star can produce a good result in New York.

As you might notice we expect some great tennis in the upcoming weeks. Stay tuned for all the live action from the US Open!
